Found Footage Magazine is an independent semi-annual publication distributed worldwide and printed both in English and Spanish, offering theoretical, analytical and informative contents related to found footage filmmaking. Found Footage Magazine accommodates a selection of articles and sections aimed at promoting the culture of recycled cinema from different approaches: monographs, academic essays, interviews, opinion pieces, film reviews, film festival reports and profiles of media products related to the eclectic universe of found footage film-making.
The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen is now calling for entries to its 64th edition, which will take place from 3 to 8 May 2018. For the past six decades, Oberhausen has been one of the premier platforms worldwide for the short form. The festival his always on the lookout for new developments, whether technological or aesthetic, for new cinematographies and borderline areas of cinematic experience.
The idea behind Affinities or The Weight of Cinema derives from Goethe’s classic 1809 novel Elective Affinities. The project, playfully adapting Goethe’s artistic-scientific theory of attractions to the practice of exhibiting experimental cinema, is presented in person by filmmaker Kevin Jerome Everson and curator Greg de Cuir Jr, who serve as co-curators. Eight programs of international works of film and video art are arranged along various thematic lines that correspond to their shared interests and concerns.
Pugnant Film Series is a nonprofit organization that organizes screenings of underground, dada & auteur cinema in Athens & Greece generally.
>We exhibit film screenings on streets, on squares, on cafes, on archaelogical sites, on overnight shows, on nomadic events and of course on cinemas. We are looking for films from UNDERGROUND, AUTEUR and DADA era. This is a continuous call. There are no restrictions on the duration of the film, the year of production or the genre. But we prefer recently produced films.
