  • These Accents - Open Call for Unifnished Artwork

    These Accents is an online scrapbook for artists of all disciplines to share work they feel contributes to a discussion of the incomplete, in-progress, or otherwise unfinished.

    The project, founded in 2022 by artist and writer Bora Rex, has established itself as the home for provoking and insightful discussions about states of art and art-making in flux.

    Past contributors have shared everything from string quartets to screenshots, exchanged unbindable poems and paused prose, sent up balloons and thrown down pastels.

  • Winnipeg Underground Film Festival: Call for Submissions Now Open

    The Winnipeg Underground Film Festival is an annual showcase for contemporary experimental film + video, taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

    Our next festival runs from May 31- June 2.

    WUFF seeks new and engaging moving-image works that deviate from traditional cinematic forms (whatever that means). Stronger consideration will be given to work running under 30 minutes and those completed in 2022 or later.

  • Raphael Montañez Ortiz: Chopping Up the Classics

    The UCLA Film and Television Archive and Chicano Studies Research Center present two nights of Raphael Montañez Ortiz’s films, music and video art. Ortiz is a key figure of the 1960s international “Destruction in Art” movement, U.S.-based Guerrilla Theater and Latino art (including as founder of El Museo del Barrio). His extensive media collection — archived at UCLA — includes footage documenting the emergence of performance, installation art and experimental music in New York City. This two-night program surveys the full scope of his media art since the late 1950s.
