IVAHM is a New Media Arts Festival in Madrid. The IVAHM Festival is held every year with the aim of bringing new proposals of national and international artists to the general public. Every year we present a selection of videoart & experimental films. Since its inception it has doubled the figure of invited countries where different curators from them carry out a retrospective on its national production.
Bruce Conner is noted for his transgressive, pioneering use of found footage, but he also made and edited films. His career provides an index of US counterculture attitudes, from the psychic experiments of the beat generation and hippies to the appropriations of punk rock. These two programmes, ranging from his first films to his latest digital projects, reaffirm Conner’s importance as a filmmaker who is both innovative and influential.

Tonight’s program spans 38 years, beginning with an early portrait from 1979. Included in the show are portraits and films of place: nature, gardens, architecture, rivers. These films are perspectives, as seen by the filmmaker and presented to the viewer. Compositions of space between people, objects, interiors and exteriors, all within the film frame, are a critical element of what one is seeing in film.
The Moviate Underground Film Festival encompasses a 3-day film fest on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA, coinciding with the area's annual arts celebration: Artsfest, which brings in thousands of art and film enthusiasts who will attend multi-genre film screenings at multiple venues around the city.
CATALOG is a new project that uses social media to share experimental films freely available through the filmmakers' Vimeo profiles.
This project offers a daily selection of current and past experimental films. A keyword index to browse through the selection is provided on CATALOG's website.
CATALOG is curated by Italian filmmaker Stefano Miraglia. Guest curators will be featured throughout the year.
