L’Alternativa celebrates its 26th edition in 2019. We offer filmgoers, filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that value creative freedom, diversity, innovation, commitment and thought-provoking reflection. L’Alternativa will take place from 11-17 November 2019.
The 2019 edition of Punto de Vista, Navarra's International Documentary Film Festival (March 11-16, Pamplona) features this year a programme with a strong presence of avan-garde films. One of the main protagonists of this edition will be the figure od the recently passed away Jonathan Schwartz, with a a retrospective of his work and the publication of the book 'To light, to love, to time: Jonathan Schwartz'.

Colectivo Los Ingrávidos is a collective of filmmakers and activists mainly based in and around Mexico City. Their work is characterized by both radical form work and a direct response to the political turbulence, the violence and the corruption that is a highly tangible reality in Mexican society. Mass disappearances, political and military corruption and feminine cleansing - femicide - are some subjects that the collective stays with.
Bozarand Cinema Parenthèse present two programmes with Larry Gottheim, in his presence for the first time in Belgium in 40 years. Larry Gottheim (°1936) became, together with Michael Snow and Ernie Gehr, one of the US most prominent and leading ’structural’ avant-garde filmmakers in the 1960s. From his late-1960s series of sublime 'single-shot' films to the dense sound/image constructs of the mid-1970s and after, his cinema is the cinema of presence, of observation, and of deep conscious engagement.
