    László Moholy-Nagy (Hungary, July 20, 1895 – November 24, 1946) was a Hungarian painter and photographer as well as a professor in the Bauhaus school. He was highly influenced by constructivism and a strong advocate of the integration of technology and industry into the arts. A New York Times article called him “relentlessly experimental” because of his pioneering work in painting, drawing, photography, collage, sculpture, film, theater, and writing.

    Slides by Annabel Nicolson and Girish Shambu’s manifesto For a New Cinephilia are used as starting points from which to construct Movement and Handling, Selected Works from the LUX Collection. Nicolson’s fascination with fragments of older films and the transience of construction suggests a link with Shambu’s new cinephilia – a transient place between online and real-life.
