Microscope is very pleased to present an online screening of films and videos by LA-based, experimental filmmaker and artist Janie Geiser, including the premiere of her most recent work Reverse Shadow (2019) and the 40-minute series The Nervous Films, consisting of five works completed between 2009 and 2012.
In the face of death, it is urgent to reaffirm life. Cinema is an incurable contagion, it transforms us forever and with each film once again. We are in the dark and we do not know where we are going. In this sick world, art has become a basic item, a daily necessity for the maintenance of life.
A guided virtual-walk along the route Daniel & Clara take daily around Mersea Island with reflections on the impact that place has on our creative practice and how this has changed during lockdown. This presentation will be part artist talk, part live performance in which the inner and outer experiences of landscape seamlessly blend.

3 video art programs are available for viewing online until June 30 on Video Art Miden‘s youtube channel, presenting new selections from Miden’s recent international open call. The screening program includes Post Quarantine I, curated by Maria Bourika, v-Dance ALWAYS, curated by Margarita Stavraki, and Above, curated by Olga & Gioula Papadopoulou, introducing 22 selected video art works by renown and emerging video artists from 14 countries around the globe.
The programs will be available online until end of June 2020, on Video Art Miden's youtube channel.
