PROFILE Every year POOL presents a selection of fascinating dance film productions from all over the world, making the event a meeting place for creatives involved in the fields of dance, film, fashion and advertisement.
The focus of the festival is on films that not only record dance but create independent filmchoreographies through the intense interplay between dance and cinematic tools like camera and editing.
Online edition of the 8th Experimental Film Festival Kinodot started on May 21 and will go on till May 26. Five programs will be available for watching at kinodot.org, each program can be viewed for 24 hours. There is a new program each day, though some films will remain available until the end of the festival.

United by the experimental content they bring to the table, these change makers steer themselves according to the free interpretation they inspire in the eyes they prepare. If their aesthetic differs, they’ve still got the invitation for the journey in common. It’s not just about invoking the first and physical meaning of this movement, but rather letting yourself be guided by the call to the intrinsic feelings when each of us lets go.

The online edition of the 66th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen from 13 to 18 May 2020 has proved far more successful than expected. In total, Internet users in nearly 100 countries watched the festival films on the net. Well over 2,500 festival passes were sold in around 60 countries, over 1,000 trade visitors from almost 70 countries attended the online festival.
Filmmaker Helga Fanderl was born in Ingolstadt and now lives in Berlin. From 1987 to 1992 she studied at the University of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main with Peter Kubelka and then at the Cooper Union School of Arts New York with Robert Breer. She presented her films, among others. at the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen, they are among others represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt am Main and in the collection of the Center Pompidou in Paris.
