Microscope is very pleased to present an online screening of video works by Boston-based artist Magda Fernandez.
The program includes a selection of 13 short videos made by Fernandez between 2006 and 2020 offering a comprehensive look into her videography. In these works, often conceptual and resting on her reflections on her own identity as a Cuban-American, the artist performs in various disguises and roles against moving-image backdrops of original or found footage.
The 3rd edition of PRISME will take place from 2 to 9 December 2020, festival organized by Mire (association dedicated to experimental cinema, based in Nantes, France). PRISME highlights an inventive and engaged contemporay analog cinema, interacting with other practices (photography, visual, sound & performative arts).
The Call for Entries for the 18th edition of the Videonale has begun and we cordially invite all artists and filmmakers to submit their works for the competition. The VIDEONALE.18 is open for experimental works from the fields of single- and multi-channel video, video installation, performance, sound art, and virtual reality.
With its third edition REAKTOR will be presenting films from all over the world. Four days of screenings will display hidden jewels, rebels without a cause, monstrous abysses, heartbreaking beauty. International film makers will share their contemporary favourites complementing the jury’s selection from the submissions. Laterale Film Festival is an international non competitive Film Festival of cinematic art. The aim of the project is to enhance the most innovative aspects of audio-visual languages of the contemporary world and to reduce the distance between artistic research and public involvement. Particular attention will be paid to young and independent filmmakers and to self-made no-budget works, as result of their own individual search.
