El (S8) Mostra Internacional de Cinema Periférico de A Coruña desveló gran parte de su programación, y se celebrará entre los próximos 27 de mayo y 5 de junio en sedes como la Domus, la Fundación Luis Seoane, la Sala Palexco o el Puerto de A Coruña.En palabras del director, Ángel Rueda, "el festival trabaja desde el presente para el futuro y por eso presentamos una edición en la que trabajamos alrededor de los nuevos públicos con el objetivo de traer a la gente joven desde la pequeña pantalla a la grande, de pasar del individualismo a la experiencia colectiva de la sala de cine".

The porosity of the boundaries between bodies, genders, arts, media; the reinterpretation of the cinematographic image as a space of relation; the moving image as a field of political resistance, a device for constructing a free and radical subjectivity.

Since October 2014, Light Cone hosts artist residencies dedicated to the video-based post-production of films that belong to the realm of experimental cinema, with the aim of supporting approximately 10 projects per year. The residency is adapted to the workflow of experimental filmmakers, and, therefore, eligibility criteria are deliberately kept open. Short, medium, as well as feature-length films are welcome, on the condition that shooting is completed and editing is already advanced, with or without the backing of an independent production company.
This year, Light Cone celebrates its 40th anniversary with multiple guest programs, screenings, performances, discussions and festivities throughout 2022. The core of the celebrations will take place from Thursday, June 9th to Sunday, June 19th, 2022, in Paris.

Altered Images is a spontaneous space for experimental film production, videoart, installations and live music. The festival aims to showcase silent or sound movies that are open to a sound reinterpretation. Our showcase is open to artists whose works have an experimental and innovative character. Its goal is to create forthcoming events of live music, projections and art installations, where people can enjoy the show in a relaxed and friendly environment within the London artist scene (UK).

In the first of a two-part program on Iranian experimental cinema, guest programmer Somayeh Khakshoor presents rarely seen short works by pioneering filmmakers Manouchehr Tayyab, Khosrow Sinai, Farshad Fadaian, and Mohammad Reza Aslani (whose feature Chess of the Wind had a held-over run at The Cinematheque earlier this year). Although all these films, with the exception of Ars Poetica, were either commissioned or made within governmental institutions, their makers found creative ways not to compromise their radical artistic inclinations.
