    Directors Lounge ScreeningMinuano Visions: New experimental films from Brazilby Daniela Tavora, Marina Camargo and Tula AnagnostopoulosThree Brazilian artists from Porto Alegre present their films on the occasion of the German-Brazilian exhibition “Techné” at Verein Berliner Künstler. “Minuano” is a strong Southern wind in the South of Brazil, bringing a cold stream from the Antarctic, with mostly clear sky, similar to the Mistral, a falling cold wind in Southern France.

    Peter Hutton (Detroit, Michigan, 1944) es desde hace cuarenta años una figura imprescindible del cine documental y experimental estadounidense. Hutton es el último eslabón de una tradición paisajística norteamericana que se inició en el XIX con Thomas Cole y los Iluministas y que, a lo largo del siglo XX, en el cine han desarrollado Henwar Rodakiewicz, Paul Strand, James Benning y John Ford.

    Close-Up is thrilled to present the first European solo screening for the US artist Kelly Gallagher, comprising ten years of her moving image work across animation, live action and avant-garde collage. These two programmes offer an overview of a brilliant young artist who has demonstrated a mastery of technique, matched with a strong historical and political consciousness. Hers is a radical critique of the canon and the conservative patriarchy that structures and sustains it. Her stance is feminist, anti-imperialist and anti-racist.
