exf f. – days of experimental film frankfurt is an annual festival dedicated to experimental and avant-garde film in all its diversity, both historical and contemporary.
Offering no competition, exf f. is defined by a non-hierarchical understanding of filmmaking and film culture, aiming in particular to showcase film practices that focus on analogue film (be it Super 8, 16mm, 35mm or 70mm).

This year’s edition of exf f. includes an artist showcase on Robert Beavers, a two-screening program dedicated to the memory of Amy Halpern, the focus program „Between women. British women filmmakers in 1990s London”, curated by Sarah Pucill and Karola Gramann, monographic presentations of Super 8 and 16mm works of both Álvaro Feldman and Theo Thiesmeier, two dialogic programs between Eva Giolo and Viktoria Schmid, and Absis and Marguerite Duras, as well as a closing night presentation of Anthony Mccall’s legendary film-sculpture „Line Describing a Cone“.

Many filmmakers will be present for introductions preceding and discussions following the programs.
