Join us on Sat 6th November for the MIA Masterclass - a new series of events featuring moving image professionals sharing insights into the behind the scenes workings of producing and exhibiting moving image art.
This first event will be presented by Richard Ashrowan, who will share his journey as a filmmaker, curator and moving image activist:
“In this talk I will discuss the role of film-activism within an artist's practice - in effect, how to make a world around you when you find yourself in a world you don't recognise, or which doesn't recognise you... I will step through my thinking in relation to various self-directed projects - from self-organised exhibitions, to the founding and development of Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival...”
Free event, places limited - book here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/mia-masterclass-richard-ashrowan-tickets-188886353167
This event is presented as a part of MIA NOW, a project kindly supported by Arts Council England.
