Emami Art Experimental Film Festival (EAEFF) returns as a five-day event from 22nd – 26th November 2023, following the debut edition’s raging success last year. EAEFF is conceived by Ushmita Sahu, Director and head Curator of Emami Art. This year, the scope of the Festival has grown to encompass twenty-two films in the competitive section + thirty-three Indian and international films across seven curated sections + Masterclasses, Filmmaker in Focus, Panel Discussions, Special screenings and more.

ANALOGICA is celebrating its thirteenth edition and returns to the spaces of Waag and FotoForum in Bolzano for a new event dedicated to experimental cinema and family film archives. It is precisely the family archives in Super 8 format that help recover a story of love and resistance that would otherwise have been lost. Nelly and Nadine is the extraordinary documentary by Magnus Gertten, to which the opening night of Analogica is dedicated.

Internationally acclaimed American filmmaker Phil Solomon (1952-2019) created a body of cinematic virtuosity and poetic resonance that profoundly expanded the found footage genre, as he explored and exploited material idiosyncrasies of his sources – whether chemically altering the emulsion of Hollywood films and personal home movies or détourning the digital gaming universe of Grand Theft Auto.

Frequencies in Movement is a multidisciplinary performance that works with image, sound and butô. The proposal is based on the sounds of objects, field recordings, and music by Hiroko Komiya (JP), and Chris H. Lynn (USA); Lynn's Super 8 film recordings; and the representation of Butô by Marlène Jöbstl (FR/AT), and Atsushi Takenouchi (JP).
For this special event, we welcome Swiss artist and experimental filmmaker Hannes Schüpbach, on the occasion of the publication of the new book, “Hannes Schüpbach: Essais. Conversations and Film Images” (Vienna: Verlag für moderne Kunst, 2023).
NNC's offering for Noirvember is a monumental work of found footage filmmaking composed from over 300 classic Noir films. This screening marks the Western U.S. Premiere of this masterpiece!
