Following two years of screening seasons attended by wonderful creators, the Alternative Night of Experimental Film is back - once again inviting submissions of short experimental films and moving image works that will compose the programme for an informal screening and networking opportunity. On the occasion of the first Biennial of Art of Alentejo (BIALE), Italian avant-garde filmmaker Gianmarco Donaggio has been invited to present a collection of new works. Operating in a unique manner, Donaggio’s films are fine-crafted cinematic experiences; atmospheres of dancing light, in which the poetic overtakes the conceptual and the literal. Donaggio’s camera transgresses assumptions allocated to cinematic expression by ascending above optical representation and dwelling in the realm of emotions.
For the third consecutive year, the OBSKURA festival is launching its call for entries ! Initiated by Zero de Conduite and Labo K, the OBSKURA festival celebrates contemporary analog film practices around the world. The festival will be held between the 28th of June and the 1st of July 2023 at the Théâtre National de Bretagne and La Parcheminerie, in Rennes, France.
As part of its IN SITU series, la lumière collective presents on March 9, 2023, in collaboration with Vidéographe and Groupe Intervention Vidéo (GIV), films by Sarah Seené and a selection of videos by Anne Golden as well as a live sound performance by Magali Babin.
