  • Peter Freund: IRAN|USA

    By on

IRAN|USA, an original exhibition organized by the Saint Mary’s College Museum of Art, presents a program of compelling video art and prints by artist and faculty member Peter Freund. The multi-language exhibit re-envisions key moments in the politically charged history of the two countries through the lens of an experimental artist. The work poetically challenges our reliance on the visual archive as evidence in the retelling of the past.

  • La vida enunciada. La neovanguardia en el cine español

    By on

  • Forum Expanded 2017: The Stars Down to Earth

    By on

"The Stars Down to Earth" is the title of this year’s Forum Expanded programme and is taken from the text of the same name by Theodor W. Adorno in which he grapples with the role of the irrational in mass culture. The search for ways to enable art to deal with an increasingly intangible reality forms an essential similarity between the selected works. Bringing one’s gaze back down to earth now seems more necessary than ever before. Yet how can one use film to take hold of something real when that very concept is ever harder to grasp?
