STIFF- Student International Film Festival is calling on all student and debutant filmmakers to submit their films for the 4th STIFF which will take place from 19th to 22nd October 2017 in Rijeka, Croatia.
On February 22, 1987, Andy Warhol died at 58 years following a mere gall bladder operation. Thirty years after his death, Warhol remains a superstar of sales and exhibitions and his notoriety goes well beyond the world of art.

25 FPS Festivalis inviting new films to apply for the International Competition of the 2017 edition taking place in Zagreb between September 28th and October 1st.
We're searching for innovative explorations of cinematic language, narration and the medium itself, film types and genres that cross and broaden the notion of film as art. Festival is open to expressive original concepts, progresses in terms of theme, idea and aesthetics, as well as works that perpetuate the tradition of avant-garde and experimental film.

Since the 1960s, acclaimed experimental filmmaker Pat O’Neill has explored the visual complexities of moving images on screen, first through his mastery of the optical printer and more recently through digital tools. This program presents exemplary works of each. One of O’Neill’s final works on celluloid, the 35mm Trouble in the Image (1996) is a moving image artist’s book that hints and nudges towards rich connections and associations.

Para Robert Beavers, la cámara no es un simple dispositivo de registro, sino que tiene una calidad muy viva que envuelve los propios elementos de filmación. Esta sesión presenta dos películas de este cineasta hechas en los setenta a partir de una pintura del siglo XV y de los escritos de John Ruskin. La construcción de imágenes y sonidos en estos trabajos enlaza el presente con el pasado y el pasado con el presente en un vaivén continuo.
