The Image Forum Festival is a festival of moving image art that brings together for screening works with a high degree of expression, artistry, and creativity. We are seeking submissions from the East Asian region, including China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, for works to be included in the East Asian Experimental Competition.
In 1967, Larry Gottheim started the Cinema Department at Binghamton University which was the first regular undergraduate program that dealt with cinema as a personal art. Considering the theme of nature in art and functions of racial, cultural and personal identity, Gottheim’s practice explores the ways in which time, movement, and becoming are bound up in a complex relation between formal cinematic patterns and pro-filmic subjects.

The London Film-Makers' Co-operative (LFMC) was founded in October 1966, and soon grew from its beginnings as a film-viewing group to become one of the major centres of a worldwide network of avant-garde film culture. In contrast to similar co-operative endeavours, the LFMC's activity was not limited to distribution – within a few years it was also running a regular program in its own cinema and, most notably, it democratized the means of production by establishing a film workshop that enabled filmmakers to control every stage of the creative process.

L’Alternativa celebrates its 26th edition in 2019. We offer filmgoers, filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that value creative freedom, diversity, innovation, commitment and thought-provoking reflection. L’Alternativa will take place from 11-17 November 2019. The main venue is the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).
