Writer Paul Clinton selects films from the LUX archive that reflect the ambivalence in Lionel Soukaz’s works towards sexual liberation movements and their internal norms. The programme examines how differently these ideas are articulated in a British and American context.

Foster will present a program of handmade personal experimental films including handpainted 16mm films, 8mm personal diary films and détournements from found archival 35mm footage. Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival is an international festival of experimental film and artists’ moving image. Submissions of artists’ and experimental film from any part of the world are welcome: short films, features, expanded cinema, curated programmes, and moving image installation proposals. The tenth edition of Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival will take place 30 April – 4 May 2020.
