L’Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival, celebrates its 28th edition. We offer filmgoers, filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that value creative freedom, diversity, innovation, commitment and thought-provoking reflection.
L’Alternativa will take place from 15 to 28 November 2021, and will be a hybrid event: onsite* and online.The main onsite venue is the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).
anonymous waves White Page Gallery proudly presents MRWN - the art of Marwen Ben Cheik. This Special Event takes place for just 5 days between March 8th to 12th, and features recent film and sound work by this unique Tunisian artist. The exhibition will also feature live ZOOM sessions between MRWN and his collaborators beaming in from Mali, Tunisia and Australia.

Con el objetivo de dar mayor visibilidad a los fondos del Archivo Xcèntric, que hasta ahora sólo podían consultarse en el CCCB, lanzamos este espacio de difusión online de cine experimental. Una vez al mes y por tiempo limitado, compartimos una película de nuestro catálogo, acompañada de una presentación en profundidad por una especialista. Para esta iniciativa, contamos con la colaboración de la Asociación Catalana de la Crítica y Escritura Cinematográfica (ACCEC).

HATERS Program II: Damp Moss, examines our ever-changing understanding of our environment and ecology through mediated images, and the manipulation of the landscape by video and other means of modification; creating a moist reality from our shifting perceptions of soft (virtual) and hard (physical) environments.
Citric Signals is now accepting submissions for the first of many quarterly, prompt-based open calls. Selected submissions will be screened virtually this Spring.
Open Call #1: "Colors"Deadline: March 15, 2021 @ 11:59 PM. Send us any experimental films you have (new or old) responding to the prompt “Colors”. Only three submissions per artist and works must be SHORTER than 5 minutes. Other than that we’re open to all weird, wild, and avant-Garde work you want to send our way.
