- Submissions will close on the 1st of September 2016.
November exists to provide access to, and develop audiences for, artists' moving image work and is committed to engaging local audiences with new and/or unheard voices in film. November champions works made by early stage filmmakers and artists whose work is underrepresented in the UK. The festival will provide a platform in London for moving image works made for the gallery and for the cinema, with the aim of building a community across disciplinary and institutional faultlines. We are principally concerned with exploring continuities and contrasts across generations, identities and geographies within film practice. Curated programmes will place emerging next to established voices, and contemporary works next to historical ones, staging conversations among the selected works. To facilitate exchange and debate there will be a series of talks and workshops accompanying the film programme.
November Film Festival is organised and curated by Screen and Audiovisual Research Unit, a collective made up of artists, filmmakers and researchers.
