On February 22, 1987, Andy Warhol died at 58 years following a mere gall bladder operation. Thirty years after his death, Warhol remains a superstar of sales and exhibitions and his notoriety goes well beyond the world of art.

This program pays tribute to him with three films made by filmmakers who knew him well in New York in the 60s and later. Andy Warhol by Marie Menken plunges us into the universe of the Factory where the artist, assisted by Gérard Malanga, is working on his works in progress: Brillo boxes, silkscreen prints and portraits of Jackie are produced continuously. The two following films are by Jonas Mekas: Award Presentation to Andy Warhol and Scenes from the Life of Andy Warhol, slices of life seized from 1965 to 1982 where we also meet personalities like Allen Ginsberg, Yoko Ono, John Lennon, Barbara Rubin, Caroline Kennedy...

- Andy Warhol (Marie Menken, 1965, 22’)
- Award Presentation to Andy Warhol (Jonas Mekas, 1964, 12’)
- Scenes from the life of Andy Warhol (Jonas Mekas, 1963-1990, 37’)
