BEEF Presents...

A rare opportunity to meet and see the work of Belgian artist Els Van Riel.  Els will screen her 16mm films Gradual Speed, and Fugue, a Light's Travelogue. There will also be a conversation between Els and BEEF members. 

Films:
- Gradual Speed (2013), explores the diverse mechanisms of light as a physical and optical effect, in its specificity and materiality.  
- Fugue, a Light's Travelogue (2017) elaborates a story of light from its reverse, the phantasmagoric effect of shadows, light games and ghosts that surge from the darkness.
