    The Studio Two Three Film + Video Series is now accepting submissions for our "Emerging Filmmakers" event. We are seeking submissions for found footage films and videos. This includes all walks of found footage work, including internet videos, mashups, montage compilations, you name it!

    We are seeking short videos, under 10 minutes in length. This is a call for student work as well as established film and video makers, please email with any questions.

    The Event will be held on April 25 from 7-9pm, in Richmond, Virginia, USA.

    Call for Papers

    Signal Culture invites submissions for its first media arts cookbook. We are interested in writings that provide how-to's, tips and techniques on video processing, image and sound manipulation, augmented reality, electronics, circuit bending, web development, mobile apps, sensors and hardware, or other interesting ways you've used old and new technologies in your art making.

    Text documents (2000 words or less) should be formatted as Word or plain text files, and images (300dpi or higher) should be TIFF or JPG files. Send your proposal which includes a brief description of your idea, along with a short bio, url (if available) and contact information to [email protected] ATTN: Signal Culture Cookbook.

    Each year, the Festival du nouveau cinéma presents around 300 feature and short films, interactive works and performances from over 50 countries during 11 days of festivities, and offers over $30,000 in cash and services to the winners of the national and international competition.

    Today, the Festival is looking for films, interactive works and performances for its 42nd edition which will run from October 9 to 20, 2013 in Montréal !

Encompassing screenings, installations, performances and media hybrids, Antimatter provides a noncompetitive setting in Victoria, British Columbia, free from commercial and industry agendas.

    Since 1998, the quality and creativity of its programming, commitment to audience development, and respect for artists and their work have made Antimatter one of the most important media arts events in Canada, and the world.

    The 16th annual Antimatter runs October 18 to November 3, 2013, an extended timeline to allow for an expanded focus on media installations.

    25 FPS Festival is looking for expressive original concepts, progresses in terms of theme, idea and aesthetics, as well as works that perpetuate the tradition of avant-garde and experimental film. Innovative films that explore the possibilities of cinematic language, narration and the medium itself, cross film types and genres and broaden the notion of film as art.

    For the Competition Programme we accept films completed after 1st January 2011, and not longer than 60 minutes. Submissions can be made via link or DVD, and deadline is 15th May 2013.

    WNDX seeks new Canadian and international films and videos for our next edition, to be held Sept 26 to 29, 2013. WNDX pays special attention to the most innovative and ground-breaking works created by moving image artists. In the past, WNDX has featured spotlights on Guy Maddin, Joyce Wieland, George Kuchar, Steve Reinke, Barbara Sternberg, Phil Hoffman and John Price, a well as the work of the Loop Collective. Our website’s archives section provides an overview of how we program the festival.

    Founded in 2005, WNDX places special attention on the most innovative and ground-breaking work by Canadian filmmakers and video artists, with a special focus on the work of Manitoba and prairie artists. We celebrate the impetus to create in motion pictures as a means of artistic expression and bring to the forefront works that may be overlooked by the mainstream.

    We consider all moving image art practices, including film, video, performance, installation and new media forms. WNDX is a film festival that was created by filmmakers, in support of filmmakers.

    This year, the festival will take place in autumn, from October 15th until the 20th. The call for entries is now open. We aim to carry on what was initiated in the previous years in order to give visibility to a wide spectrum of current experiments in cinema.

    All formats and duration accepted films and videos made in 2012-2013 only film submission deadline: May 31st 2013. Formats for the preselection: digital file (link to a web platform). All films in a language other than french or english must be subtitled in french or english. Information and entry forms are online at: www.cjcinema.org

    This year, in parallel to the films in competition, the «Focus» program will address the use of archival images as traces, materials and collective histories of moving images.
