This is something that I spent quite a long time working on an then abandoned, as I did not like the way it was turning out.
The good thing is I managed to grow quite confident with flash/action script as I was working on this, so I will hopefully do something else along similar lines in the future as I see a lot of potential in what flash can do.
This one is a bit of a mess, don't suppose I will ever bother to tidy it up and publish it formally as personally I just find it a bit too cheesy.
But anyway just wanted to share it with a few people at least in recognition the time that went into it.
I daresay now I am familiar with flash I could knock something similar out fairly effortlessly, but as was learning as went with coatfetish it caused me a great many headaches, and it is with some difficulty that I look back on the process.

Anyway, again I do not feel this to be my best work, but thoughts and criticisms are most welcome.

Drew -

A very late response - I've only just come across this. My first reaction is that this is the opposite of interactive: which is to say that because the words only appear onscreen at a certain rate, you take away one of the reader's basic priveleges, which is to read a piece of text at his/her own chosen pace. So you're actually restricting the reader instead of giving him/her extra possibilities, which is what interactivity is supposed to be all about. Actually, it often works out as a form of restriction in practice, but that's another story.

Restriction of this type isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're trying to imbue a sense of claustrophobia and/or frustration in your audience. And oddly enough, the fact that the text appears dynamically on-screen instead of sitting there read-made and waiting to be read does have its own what-happens-next element: you find yourself waiting to see what the next bit will be. Having said this, I thought the text itself was a bit loosely-written, although it did quite a good job of building up an atmosphere of numinous tension, threat, darkness, unspecified horror, in an HP Lovecraft sort of a way.

I quite like the soundtrack, especially when it gets into "The Look of Love" by itself, without the ominous accompaniments - but it's slightly comical at this point, which maybe conflicts with the tone of the story itself. I also quite like the design, the mysterious-but-suggestive images/video snippets at the bottom of the page.
