Cinema was the first inescapably mechanical art. But in this post-mechanical age, the traditional apparatus of cinema has all to rapidly been deemed obsolete and primitive. Yet the handing over of industrial machinery to anti-industrial users represents one of the prime creative opportunities for re-appraising and re-interpreting the nature of ourselves as transformed by the age of machines.

The first feature by legendary choreographer Yvonne Rainer, soon to become a prominent independent filmmaker, observes a love triangle between three dancers from various points of view.
The Cube Art Project is once again seeking video art, animations, motion graphics, video-mapping, and/or sound visualization projects for our second biannual international digital art competition. Works are screened on our large three dimensional monitor (the Cube) This screen is seen by hundreds of people on a slow day, but it’s also right next to the Pinnacle Bank Arena which hosts enormous events that draws tens of thousands of people several times a week.
From the 4th to the 10th of June 2018 Asolo International Festival of Film on Art and Artist’s Biographies, the oldest festival dedicated to the relationships between cinema and figurative arts, will be back in Asolo (Italy).

Double Projection at Unesco World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
Film and Cinema cannot be determined into one format. The UNESCO “World Day for Audiovisual Heritage” raises the people’s awareness of the meaning and variety of film and cinema. Thus we will show two films that operate between the poles of analogue and digital film.

Martha Davis was born in London, Ontario in 1959. She recieved her Honours B.A. in Filmand Drama from the University of Toronto and began her career as a still photographer. She has made over twelve films and served on the boards of Directors of the Canadian Filmmakers’ Distribution Centre and The Funnel.
