On the UNESCO World Day of AV Heritage, October 27, the SCCA, Center for Contemporary Arts – Ljubljana traditionally prepares a screening at the Slovenian Cinematheque. This year, it has joined forces with the Autumn Film School to extend an invitation to Light Cone. For this occasion, we have put together two programs of 16 mm and 35 mm experimental films made over a span of almost a hundred years, between 1927 and 2016.
We are very pleased to invite you to the eleventh session of Kinu will be dedicated to the American artist Jeanne Liotta (New York, 1960). Her collages, performances and experimental films focus on scientific themes, which she approaches through observation, recording, recreation and the editing of phenomena that are perceptible to the naked eye.
Altered Images is an innovative and boundary-pushing experimental Film and Music Festival. Their mission is to bring together artists from diverse disciplines, fostering collaboration and creating original, one-of-a-kind pieces. With a focus on expanded cinema, experimental sound, performance, inclusivity, feminism, and queer activism. Altered Images strives to push the boundaries of artistic expression. Microscope is very pleased to present a solo screening of works in 16mm and video by Sasha Waters, including the New York premiere of her new short video “Ashes of Roses” (2023). Waters will be in attendance and available for a Q&A following the screening, which will take place both in-person and online.
