  • Unseen Festival 2019 Call For Entries

    Working with new definitions of experimental film, writing, and dance from September 20 to September 29, 2018, Counterpath is excited to present year 3 of The Unseen Festival, exploring notions of the resistant, the excluded, and the unacknowledged.

    Short (Between 2-25 minutes) experimental video and film works from 2017-2019 will only be considered. Please submit your films and videos via https://filmfreeway.com/UnseenFestival2019

  • Take It Down: Sabine Gruffat & Bill Brown

    In this collection of recent work by North Carolina artists Sabine Gruffat and Bill Brown, celluloid film serves as both a material register and a critical resource for interrogating the documentary image. Whether using discontinuous montage, handmade techniques, digital processing, or dramatic re-enactments, these experimental films aim to extend the formal possibilities of non-fiction filmmaking, while depicting such iconic subject matter as Confederate monuments, Earthworks, and the great American road trip.

  • Fracto Experimental Film Encounter 2019

    Between May 23rd and May 26th the third edition of the Experimental Film Encounter Fracto is taking place at Kunsthaus ACUD in Berlin-Mitte. The main programme gathers more than 70 film and video works by artists and filmmakers selected from an international open call that has received more than 800 submissions. The selection will be presented in a series of curated programmes. Some of the filmmakers will be present to talk about their work.
