  • [PMF~ 2020] Call for Works

    Now in its fourth year, the Performing Media Festival [PMF~ 2020] will be held February 20-21st in South Bend, Indiana on the campus of IU South Bend. We are seeking performative audio-visual works to present at this year's festival. If you are interested in submitting a work for consideration, please fill out the form below.   • Show & Tell: Ute Aurand

    Anthology welcomes German filmmaker Ute Aurand for a special screening of her brand-new 16mm film RUSHING GREEN WITH HORSES, as well as OH! THE FOUR SEASONS, a 1988 film made in collaboration with Ulrike Pfeiffer (and, via an introductory text, Anthology’s founder Jonas Mekas).

  • Bozar Cinema: Bruce McClure & Paul Sharits

    The performances of Bruce McClure (US) are physical experiences, hallucinatory and immersive, that stretch boundaries while celebrating the movie going experience. Working with 16mm projectors and guitar effect pedals, McClure elaborates powerful pieces that play with light, sound, the space of the performance and the viewer’s perception. “The total effect converts the room into an enormous reverberation chamber for both ear and eye, throbbing with mechanical thunder and lightning” (ArtForum).

  • Video Art Miden - Call for Entries 2019-20

    Video Art Miden invites all video artists and video creators to participate in the next events & collaborations of Miden. The call will be open until November 30th 2019.

    The call is open to every creator (individuals, groups or organizations) of any nationality and background.

    There are no thematic or morphological restrictions, but for the next edition Miden is particularly interested in video art, video-performance, video-dance, experimental music videos, animation.

  • Margaret Tait: The Movement That Light Is

    Scottish poet filmmaker Margaret Tait (1918–1999) has long been one of the best-kept secrets of British cinema. In intimate films attuned to the secret life of things, people, and landscapes, Tait sought to reveal the other side of existence – the side we only notice when our own presence in the world comes to the foreground. An independent mind and eye, she focused on what she saw before her, be it the streets of Edinburgh, the crashing sea on Orkney or a pair of old boots in a barn, shedding an singular light on the manifold dimensions of things.
