  • Nick Collins

    Nick Collins (b. 1953) has been making films since 1976. His work, usually made on 16mm film, explores landscapes, human presence and absence and the passage of time. Collins’ films have been shown widely at festivals across the world, including at Toronto International Film Festival, London Film Festival and Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Brighton.

  • Peter Gidal

    Peter Gidal is an English film writer, theoretician, and filmmaker. Born in 1946. Gidal studied theatre, psychology and literature at Brandeis University, Massachussets, 1964-68, and the University of Munich from 1966-7. He studied at the Royal College of Art from 1968-71 where he went on to teach Advanced Film Studies until 1984. He was an active member of the since 1969, and Cinema Programmer there from 1971-4. Co-founder of the Independent Film-makers' Association, 1975, he served as a member of the British Film Institute Production Board, 1978-81.

These include: London Film Festival, Oberhausen Short Film Festival, Osnabruck Media Arts Festival and Montreal Festival of New Cinema.

    Peter Wollen (b. 29 June 1938 London) is a film theorist and writer. He studied English at Christ Church, Oxford. Both political journalist and film theorist, Wollen's Signs and Meaning in the Cinema (1969), helped to transform the discipline of film studies by incorporating the methodology of structuralism and semiotics.
