Man With Mirror (1976/2006)Film performance using a hand-held mirrored screen

This documentation was filmed at a retrospective screening in Montreal.

    The
screen is white one side and mirrored the other, and is used by the
performer to either 'catch' the projected image, or reflect it around
the cinema space. The image on film is of the same activity happening
in a sunlit landscape. Visual echoes are set up between the live event
and the recorded one. This performance can include directional sound
aimed at the screen, the movements of which bounce the sound around the

  • Raymond Salvatore Harmon - The Koan of Sisyphus (2001)

The Koan of SisyphusScreening as part of the Heaven Gallery Winter Screening - February 17th, Chicago.

Shown as part of the SIDEWALK CINEMA showcase, Chicago IL - Friday, May 11 - 2001

"A collage of loops made from found footage of steam shovels,
trains chugging up mountainsides, and various scenes of hard physical
labor in industrial settings, all colored a garish red. A layer of
marks, like red snow, drifts across the screen. A harshly discordant
electronic score reinforces a sense of a hellish, senselessly
repetitive nightmare of meaningless toil. "
