Video Jam is an ongoing series of unique, experimental events which seek to explore and re-examine the relationship between moving image and live sound by commissioning sound artists to compose original accompaniment for short, contemporary films. Initiated from scratch by a very small team of emerging artists, curators and promoters, the events act as a catalyst in bringing together these two mediums to create a new, third entity to be witnessed as a live experience.
Sheffield Fringe is now open for artists’ moving image submissions for our 2014 edition, starting at Bloc Projects, Sheffield, in June 2014. We are interested in single-channel works that inspire dialogues, and/or are playful critiques of the documentary form, performance and spectatorship. Please check our website for previous editions and guidelines.
