London Film Festival

The London Film Festival will present its annual weekend dedicated to avant-garde and artists’ film & video on 22-24 October 2010.

If you would like your work to be considered for the programme, please send preview copies as soon as possible or email details of works in progress. There is no entry fee.

Works must have been made within the last two years and should receive their UK theatrical premiere in the festival. Recent archival restorations may also be considered.

THE BFI 54th LONDON FILM FESTIVAL
13-28 October 2010

The festival can screen all standard formats of film and video in the cinemas at BFI Southbank. Multi- or special projection events can be possible. The preferred tape format for video projection is Beta SP or DigiBeta, PAL or NTSC.

Prior UK theatrical, UK festivals, UK television screenings and UK dvd / video releases disqualify films from entry.

Works must have been completed within the last two years. Recent archival preservations, which have not yet screened in the UK, are also eligible.

Preferred formats for preview are dvd or vhs (PAL, NTSC or SECAM). If necessary, film prints can be sent by special arrangement.

Please include any supporting material such as biographical information, filmography, details of previous or upcoming screenings etc. Still images should be provided either as prints or 300dpi tiff or jpeg files.

Unsolicited submissions are welcomed but all shipping costs must be borne by the sender. Please note that it is not possible for us to return preview tapes and dvd’s.

We are unable to acknowledge receipt of all entries. We will contact you if we need more information, or to invite the work for screening in the festival. It is London Film Festival policy not to offer comments or reasons for films not selected for the programme.

Absolute deadline for submissions is 25 June 2010. Please send preview materials well in advance of this date if at all possible.

The BFI 54th London Film Festival will take place from 13-28 October 2010. A concentrated programme of artists’ film and video screenings will be scheduled around the weekend of 22-24 October 2010, and we hope that artists, filmmakers and international visitors will gather in London on this occasion.
