  • Ephraim Asili: Measuring Time

    “Measuring Time,” an evening of live sound performance by Ephraim Asili taking place as part of our series of “Imageless Film” performances in connection and collaboration with the “Imageless Films” series at Anthology Film Archives.

    New York-based artist Ephraim Asili will provide an improvised soundscape performance on the Boss SP-404 SX Linear Wave Sampler Sequencer, which was used to score several of his films, tapes, and most recently the vinyl record included in his recently published book, “Measuring Time” (VSW PRESS).

  • Tune in to Green - Minor Chord II

    Diorama Room Arts presents Tune in to Green – Minor Chord II, our annual autumn show, which features experimental sound and short films, under five minutes, that fit the somber mood of the season. Using animation, 16mm film, video with and without effects, the artists featured in the show speak to the human relationship with nature poetically and philosophically. Themes such as death, grief, strange creatures, and Dia de los Muertos are touched upon.

  • Matter Matters: Films by Jodie Mack

    Jodie Mack's films are some of the most fascinating experiments in animation today. Bringing together abstract colors and found objects, patterns of movement and a sense of time and loss, Mack's films burst with ideas and delights as they make us see the familiar world anew. This program of films features works from across her career. In Posthaste Perennial Pattern (2013), rapid-fire florals and morning bird songs bridge interior and exterior, design and nature.

    SPECTRAL is an adventure led conjointly by 6 artist-run film labs, WORM.Filmwerkplaats (NL), Baltic Analog Lab (LV), Crater Lab (ES), LaborBerlin (DE), Laia (PT) & Mire (FR), displaying an active DIY philosophy in the field of the moving image and sharing an affinity for photo-chemical and mechanical analog cinema.

    The seminary will proceed in three phases of 10-day workshops between Winter 2023 and Summer 2024.
