The Artifact Small Format Film Festival (formerly the $100 Film Festival) is the oldest film festival in Calgary (Canada), and one of the only ones in the world to EXCLUSIVELY screen Super 8 and 16mm films.
Call for Submissions for the 27th edition of the festival are now open. We are looking for new (finished after Dec 2016), innovative, thought-provoking films from any genre that help keep the practice of celluloid filmmaking alive!
Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival is an international festival of experimental film and artists’ moving image. Submissions of artists’ and experimental film from any part of the world are welcome: short films, features, expanded cinema, curated programmes, and moving image installation proposals. Our ninth edition will be held in Scotland 2-6 May 2019.

Alternative Film/Video 2018 will take place from 12-16 December at Students’ City Cultural Center in Belgrade. Alternative Film/Video 2018 invites artists from around the world, including the region and Serbia, to submit their film and video works for the competition section of ALTERNATIVE FILM/VIDEO on the theme COLLECTIVism. Selection committee, according to the Festival regulations, will choose films and videos for competition.
We are excited to announce the sixth edition of Transient Visions: Festival of the Moving Image, which will take place on October 19 & 20, 2018 at Spool Contemporary Art Space, an artist-run alternative space in Johnson City, NY. We now look for submissions of short films and videos (less than 20 min.) produced in 2017 or 2018, from emerging and established artists/filmmakers across the globe.
Microscope presents an evening of new and recent double projection works for 16mm film and 35mm film slides by Josh Guilford, Sarah Halpern, Bruce McClure, Lívia Sá, and Audra Wolowiec.
