  • TV Making Workshop with ACRE TV

    Kera MacKenzie and Andrew Mausert-Mooney, co-directors of ACRE TV will facilitate a three hour (with breaks!) workshop in which all participants will learn about and make LIVE and LIVE-TO-TAPE TV!   • Barbara Hammer Lesbian Experimental Filmmaking Grant 2018

    The Barbara Hammer Lesbian Experimental Filmmaking Grant is an annual grant that will be awarded to self-identified lesbians for making visionary moving-image art. Work can be experimental animation, experimental documentary, experimental narrative, cross-genre, or solely experimental. Applicants must be based in the U.S. This grant was established by Hammer in 2017 to give needed support to moving-image art made by lesbians. The grant is supported directly by funds provided by her estate and administered through Queer|Art by lesbians for lesbians, with a rotating panel of judges. The grant is $5000.

  • Bernhard Fasenfest: Binocular Rivalry

    Qubit is pleased to present Binocular Rivalry, an immersive light and moving-image installation by Bernhard Fasenfest. Binocular Rivalry fills the sprawling 6000 square feet of Project-Q’s exhibition space with luminous grids of cascading light, tactile environments, textural fabric projections, and other works that explore the multimodal capacity of expanded cinema.

  • Frame & Frequency 4 Vol. 2: Video, Sound Art, New Media

    Frame & Frequency 4 Vol. 2 is an ongoing International Video and Sound Art Exchange program presented concurrently at VisArts in our In(Site) Project Gallery in Rockville, MD and at PLECTO Galeria in Medellín, Colombia, opening October 26, 2018.

    Video, sound art (up to 8 channels), film, and new media work will be accepted: experimental, documentary, animation, narrative, non-narrative, multimedia, virtual reality, augmented reality, net art, interactive media, etc.

    All foreign language moving image artworks must have English subtitles.
