The 3rd Cosmic Rays Film Festival will beam into Chapel Hill on Thursday, March 5th and Friday, March 6th, to present 6 programs of performances and film screenings that explore the artistic possibilities of film and media. All events including all screenings and performances are free and open to the public. Screenings will be held at the historic Varsity Theater (123 E. Franklin Street), and performances will be held at Nightlight (405 ½ W. Rosemary Street).

Every year, FRACTO Experimental Film Encounter invites artists to present experimental film works which explore today’s perceptual landscape and question its set of technological configurations and to engage with the public to discuss current forms of audiovisual experimental art.
FRACTO is now accepting submissions for its 4th edition, which will take place at Kunsthaus ACUD in Berlin from May 27-31, 2020.
25 FPS Festival promotes and screens film types and genres that cross and broaden the notion of film as art, innovative explorations of cinematic language, narration and medium. Festival is open to expressive original concepts, progresses in terms of theme, idea and aesthetics, as well as works that perpetuate the tradition of avant-garde and experimental film.
Paris Expérimental is pleased to announce the release of a new collection of ebooks, edited by Scott Hammen, which make available important texts in the theory and history of experimental film enriched by simultaneous viewing of the works discussed. When a film mentioned in an Eyewash Book is publicly available on-line, direct links to the film are provided in the text.
Video Art Miden presents “Anatomy of silence“, a Greek video art selection curated by Gioula Papadopoulou, at [.BOX] Videoart Project Space, Milan, from 5 to 19 of March 2020.
The selection gathers visual works that silently but sharply comment on human existence, through strong symbolic images and minimalistic actions. The selection features 9 video works by acclaimed and emerging video artists from Greece.

maybe blue, residential art space in Boulder CO, seeks submissions of experimental animations
We are seeking submssions of experimental animations that incorporate hand-drawn images. We are interested in underground and experimental works. Submssions must not exceed 10 minutes. SUBMISSIONS ARE FREE.
Animation and "real film" come together almost seamlessly in the work of Kim Collmer, connecting creative fantasy with space and place. The artist who lives in Köln was born in Seattle. She studied Art History and German in Washington and Sculpture and Animation in Chicago. She works with video, installation, and painting/collage. For her films, she uses an amazing variety of materials both in front of the camera as in her editing process.
