    Established in the 2000s and has held The South Award—Chinese Films Competition since its 3rd edition, The South Taiwan Film Festival (STFF) and the Competition aim at encouraging filmmakers, regardless of their gender, race or nationality, who are dedicated to issues concerning the Chinese community, as well as offering the audience film works that embody multi-perspective, radical, avant-garde and innovative spirits.

  • The Commonplace Unravelled: The Films of Tara Najd Ahmadi

    Join us for a retrospective of works by Tara Najd Ahmadi, presented in partnership with Bristol Experimental and Expanded Film (BEEF).

    Ahmadi is an Iranian artist and filmmaker whose recent body of work focuses on creating a panorama of rarely-heard, marginalised stories. Her playful use of the camera reveals subtle socio-political nuances beneath the everyday experience.
