The Moving Image Salon is a monthly gathering in London for artists working in the fields of moving image and experimental filmmaking. It is intended as a relaxed and open space for conversation and exchange about contemporary moving image practices, a networking event and critical forum.

This session will begin with a short introduction by Moving Image Salon’s Daniel Fawcett & Clara Pais, followed by a presentation of work by this month’s featured guest filmmaker Peter Treherne.

Peter Treherne is an experimental filmmaker and moving image artist who uses affordable cameras, ND filters, darkness, pixelation and duration to push the image to the point of dissolution. Here he hopes the mundane and the ordinary can be transmogrified. Peter is also director of the Slow Film Festival.

The second half of the Moving Image Salon is an open platform for artists to introduce themselves and their work and engage in discussion about contemporary moving image practices. If you are an artist wishing to present something please arrive early to sign up, spaces for presenting will be limited. Please bring videos on a USB drive, maximum runtime 10 mins.

All Moving Image Salon events are free.
