Moscow International Experimental Film Festival MIEFF will run for the third time in Moscow on September 26-30, 2018. The festival has significantly expanded geography, and this year shows and special events will be held on the most famous venues in Moscow - at the Stanislavsky Electrotheater, Documentary Film Center and the New Space of the Theater of Nations. Also, a special program of shows will be held on the site of the Museum of Modern Art "Garage", which became a strategic partner of the festival this year.
The 2018 MIEFF Festival features a special program of experimental films from all over the world: a retrospective screening of films by American filmmaker and artist Michael Robinson, the film-essay by Alexander Kluge, dedicated to the ambitious unrealized project of Sergei Eisenstein - the film adaptation of «Capital» by Karl Marx, the screening will be followed by discussion with film historian Oksana Bulgakov and the world premiere by two Russia video artist Evgeny Granilshchikov and Polina Kanis.
This year, the festival’s program interest in extended types of cinema will be represented by an innovative VR-film by the Taiwanese director Tsai
Ming-liang The Deserted. The film will be screened in Europe for the first time a year after it won at the 74th Venice Film Festival.
