The Hamburg Short Film Festival presents a selection of supreme flickering and abstract films from over three decades.

Including masterpieces from Billy Roisz, Joost Rekveld, Max Hattler, Thorsten Fleisch and Nan Wan.

At a late hour the screen flickers, the sounds dance and pictures light up. Abstract experimental films from three decades send their signals to the festival orbit. Shimmering fragments are used to create an overall picture in which references and cross-references gradually become visible. We read between the lines, fill the rooms with our own thoughts and emotions, and find ourselves on unsuspected meta-levels.
