The films of Péter Lichter will be presented by Códec Festival of AudioVisal Art, in Mexico City, the 2nd of December. Codec is a festival that synthesizes and articulates expressive codes from various visual and sound fields. It especially explores new forms of audiovisual language and narrative. Codec will show during its opening night a retrospective selection from Lichter's films, made between 2009 and 2015: Light-sleep, Polaroids, Cassette, Look Inside The Ghost Machine, No Signal Detected, Pure Virtual Function - and the recent work: Non-Places: Beyonde The Infinte.

Péter Lichter is an experimental filmmaker. He publicated two poetry books at the age of 16 and 20. He studied film history and film theory at the ELTE University, Budapest. He writes his PhD-thesis about the relationship of american avante-garde cinema and the science-fiction movies. Peter makes short, found-footage, abstract experimentals and lyrical documentaries since 2002. His films were screened at festivals and venues like: Tribeca Film Festival - New York; Rotterdam IFF; goEast - Wiesbaden; Cinema 16 - New York; EXiS - Seoul; VideoEX - Zurich; MisALT / ATA – San Francisco; Festival of (In)appropriation - Los Angeles; Angers Premier Plans; Klex – Kuala Lumpur; Director Lounge – Berlin; Antimatter - Victoria, Canada; FLEX - Florida etc. He is also one of the editors of the Prizma film-periodical. Peter frequently collaborates with composer Ádám Márton Horváth and sound designer Péter Benjámin Lukács.
