Sarah Tremlett

Sarah Tremlett MPhil, FRSA, SWIP (Poem Film) is a writer, artist, theorist and poetry filmmaker. She is co-director of Liberated Words CIC Poetry Film festival and events, editor of Liberated Words online and Bristol Poetry Institute Partnership’s Board Member. Her commissioned ‘groundbreaking’ publication The Poetics of Poetry Film by Intellect Books and Chicago University Press  is available from May 2021, and her recent poetry film – Selfie with Marilyn – with American poet Heidi Seaborn, was commissioned by the Visible Poetry Project www.visiblepoetryproject.com and screened to date at ZEBRA poetry film festival and Fotogenia, Mexico City. 

She has shown her work and given talks on poetry film worldwide, and judged at a number of festivals, including Liberated Words, Newlyn PZ Film Festival, and Light Up Poole.  In 2020, having developed a long-standing relationship with VideoBardo, Buenos Aires, she was instrumental in the presentation on Argentinian videopoetry by Marisol Bellusci at Bristol Poetry Institute, hosted by Dr Rebecca Kosick. She also presented her latest curated touring screening Uprooted (with films on the refugee crisis) as part of REELpoetry festival, Houston. She also co-curated Poetry Films for the Environment for LYRA Poetry Festival and was a poetry film judge for Newlyn PZ Film Festival, both with Lucy English.
