Herman, Todd

Todd Herman is a visual artist, filmmaker, photographer, curator and facilitator. He co-directs The Dancing Tree and the documentary film collaborative Life Like Films. His projects range from photographic work of marginalized communities in Kathmandu, Nepal| to photography and video projects on death and the connections of photography to mourning and absence| to exhibits around themes of sexuality and disability. His work has been shown at Pacific Film Archive, San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, San Francisco Cinematheque, Oakland Museum of California, Melbourne Museum of Art in Melbourne Australia, Salyut Theater in Moscow Russia, Nerve Center in Derry North Ireland, Art Lab Ova in Tokyo Japan, and the Substation in Singapore. He was the recipient of the San Francisco Art Commission's Emerging Curator Award for a project based on his recently published book In Passing: A Book About Death. His collaborations include working with Banira Giri, Francis Kohler, Amanda Coslor, Creativity Explored, Leroy Moore, Patricia Berne, and the Derry Playhouse.
