The Artifact Small Format Film Festival (formerly the $100 Film Festival) is a celluloid-focused film festival based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Artifact is one of only a handful of festivals worldwide that exhibit EXCLUSIVELY on small-format film (16mm and Super 8). We are proud to be among the select few that continue to keep this unique medium alive, and to draw celluloid lovers to Calgary each year!

Our festival has free entry. If selected, artists will be paid a screening fee according to the IMAA fee schedule.

Eligibility:

  • All genres are accepted
  • The film MUST be a Super 8 or 16mm film original/print. We require a digital copy of the film for jurying (actual digital scan of the film or even a video of the film being projected on a wall/screen is fine). If accepted, the film original/print MUST be shipped to Artifact.
  • If you cannot provide a physical print, your film will be disqualified.
  • Under 22 minutes
  • Official release date after December 1, 2017

Deadline:

Friday, November 1, 2019 (All day)
