Double Projection at Unesco World Day for Audiovisual Heritage

Film and Cinema cannot be determined into one format. The UNESCO “World Day for Audiovisual Heritage” raises the people’s awareness of the meaning and variety of film and cinema. Thus we will show two films that operate between the poles of analogue and digital film.

BLACK by Belgian artist Anouk de Clercq is pure cinematic experience: Darkness, light and a story on 35mm.Bernd Lützeler in his film CAMERA THREAT on the other hand works with various formats, from digital video to Super-8 up to 35mm. In a dual film projection images will not only be shown one after the other, but also next to each other, superimposed, even against each other. Through that he explores the relationship of the Indian film industry to its own cosmos of images.

Following the screening there will be a talk with both filmmakers, Anouk de Clercq and Bernd Lützeler. The evening will be hosted by Sophia Wetzke (rbb).
