Im having trouble capturing sound with video from my mini DV camera to my laptop. Im using Sony Vegas 6 and my camera is connected via USB. I can capture image fine but there's no accompanying sound when I know there IS sound recorded on the tapes.

Any suggestions?

Hi, Greg

What application are you using for the capture? You can configure Vegas to use an external application (such as winDV) to dl the video and then edit it through Vegas. I suppose you've configured the capture app correctly; check you're capturing type 2 avis in case this is the format you chose. It could be a codec problem too; you can see the codecs used in the file with gspot and check if they're properly installed.

Is there a way or has anyone ever heard of research that involved capturing the sound that a person hears? Like somehow attaching sensors to someone's ear drums and filtering out the low frequencies.
Just curious to know if it's possible. Reason being is that whenever my friend hears this distinct high pitch sound, he stops whatever it is he's doing and asks us "did you hear that?" And I don't know if it's just coincidence, but every time it happens an earthquake occurs the very next day. It's weird!
