    60Seconds Festival 2015 is now open for entries. This year's theme is: Close Up!. To participate in 60Seconds Festival 2015, you have to present an original film of exactly 60 seconds (no credits or title), without sound, and made with close-up! Zoom in, tell your history in macro and blow-up your short film in Copenhagen.

  • Video Jam - Call for Film Submissions

    Video Jam is an ongoing series of unique, experimental events which seek to explore and re-examine the relationship between moving image and live sound by commissioning sound artists to compose original accompaniment for short, contemporary films. Initiated from scratch by a very small team of emerging artists, curators and promoters, the events act as a catalyst in bringing together these two mediums to create a new, third entity to be witnessed as a live experience.

    Waving to the decade behind us, upfront is 11 - our new favourite number! 25 FPS Festival is looking out for new films to be presented in Competition programme of the 2015 edition. We invite authors, producers and distributors to submit innovative, progressive works that explore the possibilities of film as a medium, balance between film types, genres and techniques and broaden the idea of film and cinema.

    For the Competition Programme we accept works completed after 1st of January 2013 and not longer than 60 minutes. 25 FPS Festival does not charge an entry fee. Please read our Regulations before filling out the online entry form.

  • Black Box at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2015

    EIFF is inviting submissions for short and medium-length films for the Black Box experimental section. We support equally film and digital formats and encourage submissions on 16mm and 35mm. This year we are particularly interested in films that deal with the theme of either performance or the environment, although the selection is by no means limited to these areas.

    Black Box showcases work by both emerging and established filmmakers.     The Icebox Project Space at Crane Arts is pleased to announce the 20/92 Video Open Call for 2015, juried by Alex Da Corte. The 20/92 Video Open Call and subsequent screening is a rare opportunity to exhibit your work at an uncommon scale in a unique environment. Located in Philadelphia, PA, The Icebox is one of the largest exhibition spaces in the city at nearly 5,000 sqft, and has a dedicated projection system which allows for a continuous image to be cast upon its walls, at a maximum size of 20’ x 92’ with a resolution of 768 x 3646.

  • Visual Music Award 2015 - Call for entries

    The Visual Music Award 2015 is a junior creative competition for works on music visualizations from the fields of new media art, experimental film or animation. We invite you to participate with your work for the Visual Music Award 2015 -> Call for Entries 2015. The submission deadline is on friday May 15th 2015.

    As contributions to the Visual Music Award 2015 and the Visual Music Live Contest 2015 we expect interpretations of music by visionary artistic visualisations. The holistic media compositions should come close to "paintings in time", "visual music", "symphonies of light and sound", "cinematic paintings", "color light music" or "space light art".

    Up to 10 of the best submitted "visual music" and up to three of the best "live & interactive" works will be honoured including the first prizes and one optional special prize.

  • 2015 Winnipeg Underground Film Festival

    The Winnipeg Underground Film Festival is an annual showcase for contemporary experimental film + video, presented by Open City Cinema in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The next festival will take place in June, 2015.

    WUFF is seeking new and engaging moving-image works that deviate from traditional cinematic forms (whatever that means). Stronger consideration will be given to works under 20 minutes, and to those completed in 2013 or later, but exceptions may be made in both cases. Since television’s inception, artists have been using and misusing it as material, as form, as inspiration and as antagonist.

  • International Video Art Review THE 03

    Submit work for the International Video Art Review THE 03. Selected works will be shown during planned screenings in Poland. The open call is open to graduated artists and students of art colleges, universities and academies. Videos made not earlier than 1 January 2012 are eligible for the application. The preferred length of video works is up to 7 minutes, although videos up to 15 minutes in length will be considered. The final deadline for submitting the application form for the first stage is 1 April 2015. Artists whose works are admitted to the final will be notified by email and the information will also be published on the organiser’s webpage.

    The International Video Art Review THE is at present the biggest cyclical event presenting video works in Poland. The screenings take place in 20 cities and on the Polish public TV channel dedicated to art and culture, TVP Kultura.
