After a 3-year long hiatus, the West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival returns to the screen for a two-day event on April 22 & 23, 2022. We’re looking for unique, boundary-pushing works in video, animation, and film. Send us your newest work! Deadline for entries is March 25.
• $8 per entry • Students and Young filmmakers: Free • Free Entry for Artists/Directors who have been included in previous editions of the festival. Please use waiver code: WVMSFF22 on Filmfreeway. Or choose “returning filmmaker” if submitting through the website.
REQUIREMENTS/AGREEMENTS • Maximum running time of 15 minutes. • Works must have been completed after January 1, 2020. • Maximum of 2 entries per person. • Separate entry form and fee required for each entry. • Deadline for entry: March 25, 2022. • Notification: on or before April 4, 2022. • Applicants agree to allow festival organizers use of accepted works for promotional materials and events.
Established in 2010, the WVMSFF is a creation of the Electronic Media program of the West Virginia University School of Art and Design. The 2022 West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival will be held on April 22 & 23 in the College of Creative Art’s Bloch Hall Theater and the Gluck Theater at the West Virginia University Mountainlair in Morgantown.
