The 33rd Onion City Experimental Film Festival is open for submissions! Regular deadline: December 15th.

We are excited to announce this year's programmer, Chicago-based curator and writer Nicky Ni, who will be spearheading our selection committee. The 33rd edition of this critically acclaimed festival, presented by Chicago Filmmakers, will return March 30 to April 2, 2023 with in-person and online screenings. We welcome multiple submissions from all artists working in experimental, underground, avant-garde, abstract, consciousness-shifting, militant, outspoken, transgressive, contemplative, free-form, poetic, essayistic, maximalist, minimalist, hybrid, and/or expanded cinemas.
