Low Light/Black Hole Collective Relocation Fund

Low Light Darkroom and Black Hole Collective Film Lab is a DIY community resource center and art studio based in West Oakland, CA organized cooperatively by a group of artists working in analog photography and filmmaking. We were recently informed that the space we have called home for four years is on the market. In an attempt to get ahead of being pushed out, we are moving to a new location with more space and a stronger lease, but it is coming at a cost. As a non-commercial group focused on photochemical image-making in the "digital age," we hope to make film accessible to a wider community at a low cost. Our new rent will be triple what we were paying before, so we are asking for help during this period of transition. All funds will go to moving/construction costs, supplementing a new sliding scale model of membership, and paying for the deposit on a new space.
